Dance / Performance Therapy

At Perth Injury & Pain Clinic, we are passionate about working with dancers and performing artist to provide the highest level of care and keep you performing in the activities you love. Our Therapists have undergone extensive training to understand the needs, injury mechanisms and demands associated with the various types of performing.

We work with performers from many different performing arts, including Ballet, Gymnasts, Calisthenics, Vocal Artists, WAAPA performers and more. We treat all levels and ages – from local emerging talent to top names from Joffrey Ballet School of New York to International Singers and more!

Specific Treatments

Vocal Unloading / Deloading

Vocal unloading is a specific treatment to improve the health and function of your voice and the associated musculature.

This includes a thorough Assessment and Treatment of;

  • Cervical area
  • Posture
  • Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) function
  • Diaphragm
  • Breathing Pattern

Mobility

Performers require an increased range of motion and mobility but injuries, repetitive movements and other factors can result in restriction of joints or tissues. These restrictions can reduce performance and may increase risk of injury.

​The mobility programmes aim to improve your range of motion and quality of movement to enhance your performance. Treatments may include;

  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation
  • Active Release Techniques
  • Joint Mobilisation
