Spinal Rehab Program T&Cs

Spinal Rehab Program – Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the $695 McGill Method Initial Consultation Continuation Credit available to eligible patients who continue into the Perth Injury & Pain Clinic Spinal Rehab Program.

Please read these terms carefully before booking a McGill Method Initial Consultation or enrolling in the Spinal Rehab Program.

Program Overview

The Spinal Rehab Program is a structured 12-week rehabilitation program for eligible patients who have completed a McGill Method Initial Consultation and have been assessed as suitable by their treating practitioner.

The program is designed to provide a clear, progressive rehabilitation pathway rather than isolated appointment-by-appointment care.

The Spinal Rehab Program is delivered in two phases.

Phase 1: Foundation Phase

Weeks 1–6
Two supervised sessions per week
12 sessions total

This phase focuses on:

  • Understanding relevant aggravating movements, postures, and loads
  • Establishing an individualised rehabilitation strategy
  • Coaching exercise technique
  • Developing consistency with the prescribed home exercise program
  • Building early movement confidence and capacity
  • Reviewing and modifying the program based on clinical response

Phase 2: Progression Phase

Weeks 7–12
One supervised session per week
6 sessions total

This phase focuses on:

  • Progressing the rehabilitation plan
  • Building independence with movement and exercise
  • Refining load management strategies
  • Supporting longer-term self-management
  • Preparing the patient for appropriate next steps after the program

The program may be modified by the treating practitioner based on the patient’s clinical presentation, tolerance, progress, safety, or individual circumstances.

Participation in the Spinal Rehab Program does not guarantee a specific clinical outcome, pain reduction, cure, or permanent resolution of symptoms.

1. Overview of the Continuation Credit

Perth Injury & Pain Clinic offers eligible patients the opportunity to have their $695 McGill Method Initial Consultation fee applied as a Continuation Credit across the final 6-week phase of the Spinal Rehab Program.

This means the Initial Consultation fee is not reimbursed as cash. Instead, for eligible patients who continue into the full Spinal Rehab Program, the $695 Initial Consultation fee is applied as a discount across the Progression Phase of the program.

The purpose of the Continuation Credit is to support patients who proceed with the recommended full rehabilitation pathway after being assessed as suitable.

2. Eligibility

To be eligible for the $695 Initial Consultation Continuation Credit, the patient must:

  • Complete a paid McGill Method Initial Consultation at Perth Injury & Pain Clinic
  • Be assessed by the treating practitioner as suitable for the Spinal Rehab Program
  • Enrol in the full 12-week Spinal Rehab Program recommended by the treating practitioner
  • Complete the Foundation Phase of the program
  • Continue into the Progression Phase of the program
  • Pay all required program fees in accordance with the agreed payment terms
  • Comply with these terms and conditions

The Continuation Credit is only available to patients who enrol in the full Spinal Rehab Program. It is not automatically available to all patients who attend a McGill Method Initial Consultation.

4. How the Continuation Credit Is Applied

The $695 Initial Consultation Continuation Credit is applied only to the Progression Phase of the Spinal Rehab Program.

The credit is applied across the 6 sessions in the Progression Phase.

The Continuation Credit:

  • Is not paid as a cash refund
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Cannot be applied to the Initial Consultation fee at the time of booking
  • Cannot be applied to the Foundation Phase
  • Cannot be transferred to another person
  • Cannot be applied to unrelated services, products, equipment, or appointments outside the eligible program pathway
  • Is only applied if the patient continues into the Progression Phase of the Spinal Rehab Program

If the patient does not continue into the Progression Phase, the Continuation Credit is not applied.

5. Attendance Requirements

Patients are expected to attend all scheduled Spinal Rehab Program sessions.

Where possible, Perth Injury & Pain Clinic will allow sessions to be rescheduled by agreement. However:

  • Rescheduling is subject to practitioner and clinic availability
  • The patient must provide reasonable notice if they are unable to attend a scheduled session
  • A rescheduled session must be completed within the agreed program timeframe unless otherwise approved by the treating practitioner
  • Missed sessions that are not rescheduled and attended may still be payable
  • Cancelled, missed, or unattended sessions do not automatically reduce the program fee
  • The clinic’s usual cancellation and non-attendance policies continue to apply

The program is designed as a structured pathway. Missed sessions may affect the patient’s progress and may require modification of the program.

6. Home Exercise Program

Patients may be prescribed a home exercise program as part of the Spinal Rehab Program.

The home exercise program may be tracked through the clinic’s nominated app or another clinic-approved tracking method.

The treating practitioner may modify the home exercise program during the program based on the patient’s clinical presentation, progress, tolerance, or safety considerations.

Patients should not continue any exercise, movement, or activity that they have been advised to stop or modify by their treating practitioner.

7. Clinical Suitability

The Spinal Rehab Program is only offered where the treating practitioner considers it clinically appropriate.

Completion of a McGill Method Initial Consultation does not guarantee that the patient will be recommended for the Spinal Rehab Program.

Perth Injury & Pain Clinic may recommend an alternative care pathway if the treating practitioner considers that another approach is more appropriate.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Referral to another health practitioner
  • Medical review
  • A different appointment structure
  • A modified rehabilitation plan
  • A lower or higher frequency of care
  • Delaying commencement of the program
  • Not proceeding with the Spinal Rehab Program

8. Program Modification, Pausing, or Discontinuation

Perth Injury & Pain Clinic may recommend modifying, pausing, delaying, or discontinuing the Spinal Rehab Program if the treating practitioner considers this clinically necessary or appropriate.

Reasons may include, but are not limited to:

  • Change in symptoms
  • Flare-up or increased sensitivity
  • New injury or medical condition
  • Safety concerns
  • Poor tolerance to the program
  • Need for medical review
  • Patient circumstances affecting participation

If the program is modified for clinical reasons, any remaining fees, credits, or appointment arrangements will be reviewed by Perth Injury & Pain Clinic on a case-by-case basis.

9. No Guaranteed Clinical Outcome

The Spinal Rehab Program and the Initial Consultation Continuation Credit are not based on achieving a specific clinical result.

Perth Injury & Pain Clinic does not guarantee that participation in the Spinal Rehab Program will result in:

  • Complete pain relief
  • Permanent pain resolution
  • Avoidance of future flare-ups
  • Avoidance of surgery or medical treatment
  • Return to a specific sport, job, activity, or level of performance
  • Any specific health, functional, or clinical outcome

Individual results vary depending on many factors, including clinical presentation, health history, adherence, lifestyle, work demands, training demands, other medical conditions, and personal circumstances.

10. Payment Obligations

Patients remain responsible for payment of all Initial Consultation and Spinal Rehab Program fees in accordance with Perth Injury & Pain Clinic’s usual payment terms or any agreed payment arrangement.

The Continuation Credit is applied only to the Progression Phase and only where the patient is eligible.

Failure to complete payment obligations may make the patient ineligible for the Continuation Credit.

Perth Injury & Pain Clinic may require payment upfront, in instalments, or by another agreed payment arrangement.

11. Private Health Rebates

Private health rebates may be available depending on the patient’s health fund and level of cover.

Any private health rebate is determined by the patient’s fund and is not guaranteed by Perth Injury & Pain Clinic.

Patients are responsible for checking their own private health cover and understanding any rebate implications.

Where the Continuation Credit is applied, patients should contact their private health fund directly if they have questions about how the credit may affect any claim, rebate, or out-of-pocket expense.

12. Exclusions

The Initial Consultation Continuation Credit is not available where:

  • The patient does not enrol in the full Spinal Rehab Program
  • The patient is not assessed as suitable for the Spinal Rehab Program
  • The patient completes the Initial Consultation but chooses not to proceed
  • The patient completes only the Foundation Phase and does not continue into the Progression Phase
  • The patient chooses a different appointment structure or alternative care pathway
  • The patient withdraws from the program before the Progression Phase
  • The patient is discharged, referred elsewhere, or advised not to continue for clinical reasons, unless Perth Injury & Pain Clinic agrees otherwise in writing
  • The patient breaches Perth Injury & Pain Clinic’s attendance, cancellation, payment, or conduct policies
  • The patient attempts to transfer the credit to another person or unrelated service

13. Cancellation and Non-Attendance

The clinic’s usual cancellation and non-attendance policies apply to all appointments within the Spinal Rehab Program.

Patients should provide as much notice as possible if they are unable to attend a scheduled session.

Late cancellations, missed appointments, or non-attendance may result in the appointment being forfeited or charged in accordance with Perth Injury & Pain Clinic’s usual policies.

Missed or forfeited appointments do not increase the value of the Continuation Credit and do not entitle the patient to a cash refund.

14. Changes to the Offer

Perth Injury & Pain Clinic may vary, suspend, or withdraw the Initial Consultation Continuation Credit offer at any time.

Any changes will not affect eligible patients who have already enrolled in the Spinal Rehab Program under these terms, unless the change is required for legal, regulatory, clinical, safety, or administrative reasons.
